Kevin Zielinski

Kevin Zielinski teaches The Legal and Social Environment of Business (FIN-270) at Southern Illinois University. He brings an interdisciplinary background to the classroom, holding a J.D. from SIU Simmons Law School (2025) and a B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He passed the Illinois Bar Examination in 2025. With five years of experience in academic tutoring, mentorship, and curriculum development, Professor Zielinski is dedicated to making complex legal and regulatory concepts accessible to diverse student populations. His teaching emphasizes critical thinking and practical application of legal principles in business contexts. In addition to his teaching role, he serves as Associate Counsel for Political Reform and Oversight at the Institute for Reforming Government, a Wisconsin-based policy organization focused on judicial accountability and constitutional governance. His research and professional work concentrate on administrative law, separation of powers, and judicial evaluation. A published author and recognized leader, Professor Zielinski previously worked as a legal intern with the Jackson County State's Attorney's Office and Crossroad Legal, a small firm in Glen Carbon, Illinois, focusing solely on Second Amendment civil litigation. He served as Chapter President of The Federalist Society at SIU Law, growing the student organization by over 4,000% during his tenure. His legal commentary has appeared in The Federalist Society and SSRN.
