Shanika “Lavi” Wilson, DSW, MSED, LCSW, LCAS, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Connecticut, a Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) with a concentration in Mental Health and Substance Abuse from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and a Doctor of Social Work (DSW) with a concentration in Clinical Practice and Leadership from the University of Tennessee–Knoxville. She also holds a Master of Science in Education (MSED) in Global Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, Dr. Wilson completed a professional certificate in Media and Medicine: How to Tell Stories That Make a Difference from Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Wilson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) in the states of North Carolina and Florida. Her direct practice experience includes providing evidence-based mental health and substance use treatment to individuals, groups, and families. She has worked across a range of clinical and institutional settings, including university student health centers, university counseling centers, private practice, and community mental health agencies.
