  • Transition metal nanoparticles, including:
    • Catalytic activity in oxygen reduction reactions
    • Hydrogen production from methane and ethanol
    • Complete oxidation of ethanol
    • Formation mechanisms and toxicity
  • Density Functional Theory (DFT), including:
    • Assessment of functionals for accurate electronic and optical property prediction
    • Development of techniques to improve DFT accuracy in modeling electron excitation processes
