Tomas Velasco
Dr. Tomas Velasco joined the School of Applied Engineering and Technology as an Assistant Professor. He earned his professional degree (B.S. & M.S.) in Industrial Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, followed by both an M.S. in Manufacturing and an M.B.A. from Pittsburg State University, and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arkansas.
He has served as a visiting professor at Deggendorf Institute of Technology in Deggendorf, Germany and at Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, Spain. In addition to his academic work, he is a consultant in the areas of quality, continuous improvement, and reliability. His research interests include these fields as well as the application of artificial intelligence to manufacturing problems.
Dr. Velasco is the Director of the School of Applied Engineering and Technology, and he is also the Director of Graduate Studies.
