With over 25 years of industry experience, Aaron has honed his expertise across multiple disciplines. He has collaborated with dozens of clients and companies to develop innovative solutions for consumer, client, and industry needs. He’s conducted numerous multi-disciplinary collaborative projects that incorporate national and regional clients and SIU departments. His specialties include user experience, aesthetics, and innovative concept development. His research addresses AI as a design tool, XR(MR/AR/VR), rapid prototyping and new manufacturing methods.

Aaron’s work spans a wide range of industries, including: sporting goods, toys, pet care, health and hygiene, general consumer products, home goods, plumbing products, graphic design, retail and environmental graphics, packaging, and cleaning products. He has published multiple papers, a book chapter, received national and regional grants, and presented on topics related to AI, design entrepreneurship, and the utilization of meaningful playification methodologies at conferences across the US and abroad.

Prior to joining the faculty at SIU, he worked in design, marketing, and sales. As a design professional and educator, Aaron identifies innovation opportunities, creates products, graphics, and packaging, and develops strategies for product/system integration and promotion. He is an advocate for the value of design and is committed to driving impactful change through his work.

Research Interest:

His research addresses how AI can be used as a design tool to enhance the ideation process, the development of XR(MR/AR/VR) and 3D digital drawing, rapid prototyping and new manufacturing methods, Design entrepreneurship, and the utilization of meaningful playification methodologies.
