Dr. Yijun Lin is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Her research lies at the intersection of AI, machine learning, and spatial science, with the overarching goal of understanding complex environmental and human systems through heterogeneous spatial and spatiotemporal data. Dr. Lin is a recipient of the University of Minnesota Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship (2024-2025) and the Data Science Initiative ADC Fellowship (2022-2024). She has authored over 25 peer-reviewed papers in leading venues, including ACM SIGKDD, ACM SIGSPATIAL, IEEE ICDM, ICLR, and WACV. She serves on the ACM SIGSPATIAL Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC) Standing Committee, where she works to foster a supportive and inclusive spatial computing community. She also organizes ICDAR MapText Competitions and SIGSPATIAL workshops and serves on program committees for conferences in AI, machine learning, data mining, and spatial computing.
