Mehdi Ashayeri

Mehdi Ashayeri is an Assistant Professor of Architecture. Ashayeri holds a Ph.D. in Architecture, specializing in the Technologies of the Built Environment, from the Illinois Institute of Technology (Illinois Tech), along with an M.Sc. in Architectural Engineering and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering. His research lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence and the built environment, with a focus on multi-scale performance modeling and sustainability, particularly integrating human health, human activities, climate, and social dimensions. His work advances spatiotemporal modeling of built environment performance, including energy systems and indoor and outdoor air pollution, situated within broader socioeconomic and public health contexts. He is also engaged in research on human–building interaction, digital twins, and the integration of human feedback systems to inform data-driven design and improve environmental and urban performance outcomes.
